Our English Language Learners (ELL) program is managed through a Federal Program under TITLE III. We invite parents and community to review our Language Development Plan and comment or ask questions any time. We want to provide the very best education and school experience we can for our ELL population.

ELL Mission Statement: To assist English Language Learners develop English language skills, succeed academically, and overcome barriers that might impede their academic success.

Sweet Home is partnered with Lebanon and Scio in a consortium because of our small ELL student population. We work together to receive additional funding, provide staff development, make curriculum decisions, and meet program objectives.

The district has two ESOL endorsed teachers who work closely with students and staff to improve the English language development for our ELL population.

We also strongly encourage our ELL students to become involved with other non-academic activities. The Sweet Home School District provides equal access to other school programs as well. We have ELL students involved in clubs, sports activities, along with all the academic areas offered.
