The Sweet Home School District Board of Directors is pleased to announce and welcome Lisa Riggs as Sweet Home’s new superintendent effective August 17, 2021.

“We are excited to have Lisa here in Sweet Home,” said School Board Chair Jason Redick. “Her extensive knowledge of education will continue to push our schools toward educational excellence.”

Since 2018, Riggs has served as the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction for the Gresham-Barlow School District.  From 2015-18, she served as an associate superintendent/Chief Academic Officer for the San Antonio (TX) Independent School District. Riggs has also worked as an administrator for the Washoe County School District in Reno, Nevada. She began her career as a language arts and writing teacher in her home town of Port Angeles, Washington.

Riggs has two master’s degrees in Educational Leadership and Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Victoria (B.C.) and Seattle City University (WA) respectively.  She is currently working on her doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from San Diego State University (CA).  Riggs also has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and education from Washington State University.

“I’m deeply honored and thrilled to be selected as the superintendent of the Sweet Home School District,” said Riggs. “I look forward to calling Sweet Home my home.”
