With the gradual return to in-person learning, meal service will be modified beginning on Monday, February 1.
Kindergarten through 3rd grade students will be able to take a lunch plus breakfast for the next day home with them.
Because of time and temperature concerns for food traveling home with bus riders, we will not be sending heated food in the meal bags. The meals will be sent cold. Any items that can be reheated are sent fully cooked, and cold. If your child prefers them hot, most of the items can be microwaved for a minimal amount of time. Suggested microwave heating times will be included on the menu.
Kindergarten through 3rd graders may only take their own meal bag with them. They are not allowed to take extra meals for siblings, friends, etc.
For all other children ages 18 and younger, we are continuing the free Grab and Go brown bag meal service at Sweet Home High School, Foster Elementary School and Holley Elementary School. The new serving time for elementary and junior high will be from 10:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. This serving time is designed to fall in between the AM and PM groups of students attending school. Starting February 12th, high school serving time will be 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Meals will continue to include lunch and breakfast for the next day. We will be taking names of children from people picking up lunches. We need to record the names to meet accountability requirements showing that we are not handing out duplicate lunches.
